I’m falling apart
A couple of weeks ago I was getting a pain in my right wrist. It feels like the bones aren’t properly aligned, and I was having to ‘crick’ it every 10 minutes or so. So they gave me a ‘work-station assessment’ at work, and apparently I have been using my wrist rest incorrectly. You see, I foolishly thought it was to rest my wrist on, but apparently it’s only for resting the wrist when I am not actually using the mouse, when I use it, I am supposed to move my whole arm.
So, I have been trying to use it correctly (or not at all, I have turned to mouse mat sideways so I make sure I don’t use it incorrectly). I also asked the doctor about it, who told me to take some anti-inflammatory tablets for a couple of weeks, and if it still hurts I might have to have physiotherapy.
However, after all the faffing putting that stuff on ebay the other day, I have made it worse. Monday it was quite swollen, and very painful, so one of the women at work has lent me a wrist strap, which is helping a bit. I also might get an icepack.
And now my knee has started to hurt. I don’t know why, but last week I was noticing a bit of pain when I was walking upstairs, but I do gte it sometimes, and an hour in the aerobics class normally gives it a few good ‘cricks’ and then it’s fine. Only this time it hasn’t ‘cricked’. I even did a step class tonight (when the knee held up fine, no troubles), but as soon as I tried to climb the stairs at home, I was in agony. I ended up climbing them like an old lady, putting both feet on the one stair, and only leading with the one foot.
I suppose this is what old age is all about. Something to look forward to!
