Beat that!

What can I say?

Horse racing on Thursday night - blurgh, not bothered either way really, can’t say I take any pleasure from watching horses run round a track, especially when one of them has to be shot! Still, I bet on 3 of the races, and came out £9.50 better off than I went. And it was for my niece’s 18th birthday, and she loved it, which was the only thing that mattered.

Download - awesome. Even if i did feel like an old fart. Well, until Sunday night, when all the *really* old rockers came out from under the stones to see Iron Maiden - I swear the average age on Sunday night was more than double that of Saturday night, when Linkin Park played. Got very sunburned (Mosh is crap at rubbing in suncream - especially when he got over-excited and poured almost the whole tube over my cleavage!), caved in and bought a fold up chair to take with me on Sunday to save my poor feet, will probably get a water infection from not peeing as often as I should. But it was great!

But I am still exhausted - work has just been horrendously busy - and so now I am off to bed. Night night.

Well, as a last resort, after weeks of nagging from my mother as she couldn’t find what I wanted for my birthday, I came up with something I sort of wanted, but wasn’t exactly top of my priority list.

How do I know this?

Because I remember the hype 20 years ago, when it was the 20 year anniversary of the album’s release.

One day before my 20th birthday.

Gulp.

Have today off work, and am going to have my hair done. Not really sure what I will have done to it, but with the return of Denise Osbourne to Corrie, I need to have a change!

Tonight I will head down to work, and go out for drinks with friends from there. I expect I will get quite drunk, although I am full of cold (my infection from last week hasn’t disappeared completely, might have to go back to the doctors on Monday for more anti-biotics if it doesn’t clear up over the weekend).

Yesterday was nice - one of the women who works for me had made a huge chocolate cake, with lots of icing, and flake around the edge, and what she informed me were 40 chocolate buttons on the top. I counted them, and there were 41! The other woman had bought me a caterpillar cake, but also 4 little fairy cakes she had made with her 2 year old son the day before.

My boss had also bought me a huge chocolate cake. I had taken in some sausage rolls (SW had told me to ring savoury, having warned she was baking a big cake) and other savoury bits and pieces, so much eating was had my all.

I also got a huge bouquet of flowers, and a very nice bottle of wine from the people at work.

And two “I am 40 badges”, which I might lose.
