I was wrong!
There was an email from E waiting for me when I got into work.
Woman,
I’ll forget so am telling you (!)
On page 23 of the build instr. I typed export XXX_INSTALL_XXX=/xxx/XXX_9.1, when I saved the fille I got something like “unknown directory” for the objectspawner.sh
Any ideas?
Yeah, right, I know that document so well, I know it by page numbers. I also know the exact error message, and how it occurred from the helpful description of ’something like’.
First thing I did was check the file. The change was there - so regardless of the message, it worked. Seemed she didn’t bother to check that.
But it’s my fault, because the instructions didn’t say that sometimes there might be an odd error message, depending upon how you choose to amend the file.
The instructions are a combination of screenshots, and just telling you what to type. She actually asked me to put into the instructions, where it was “type these lines into a file”, a note to say “does not look like this on the screen”. Because, it not being a screenshot, well, it’s not obvious is it?
